Welcome!

Welcome to BikeFit Surrey. We are a small off-road cycling club of up to 50 members and we offer fun, social and relaxed led off-road cycle rides around SE Surrey.

A combination of bridlepaths, fields, woodland and hidden tracks form a large part of our routes which are designed for MTB bikes only. Occationally, mainly in the dryer months, a hybrid bike might also be suitable.

BikeFit offers the following levels of riding (with start times being variable, adjusted to the type of ride):

  • Ride Easy Easy+ and Steady on Tuesdays at 10:00am
  • Ride Steady Steady+ Well and Well+ on Thursdays at 10:00am
  • Extra Ride Steady occationally on mainly Friday or Monday at 10:00am
Starting from in and around the Redhill, Reigate & Dorking areas. We also offer occasional Sunday 'pub' rides, Saturday social and evening 'pub' rides in summer.

Tuesday rides:
To join our rides you should be confident to ride 8 to 10 miles. You are welcome to use your ebike if it would otherwise prevent you to take part in the ride.

Thursday rides:
Those rides are aimed for those who are more confident on their bike and can manage some rooty downhill sections occasionally at a faster pace. Non-ebikes only.

Extra rides 9:45am fo 10:00am usually on a Monday or Friday
These rides are for riders who would like to go a little further and steeper and are similar to our Tuesday Steady Rides. It is a mixed ride so you are welcome to use your ebike if it would otherwise prevent you to ride. Average length about 1.5 to 2 hours approx.

Our rides

Our rides are for MTB bikes and are designed to give you a rich cycling experience with viewpoints and places of interest along the way. They are on a mixture of bridleways, fields and some mostly quiet roads but may include some rougher more challenging terrain- think roots and mud in winter! We are all out to enjoy the experience of sharing the ride with a group of people also out to enjoy themselves on their bikes. We usually meet at a pub afterwards for a drink, maybe something to eat and a chat. Bring layers of clothing with you, especially in the winter.

Electric Bikes

We are predominatly a non-ebike club but we welcome eMTBs if it would otherwise prevent the rider not to take part eg. due to injury, age or other form of infirmity. Wherever possible electric bike riders should seek to enhance the enjoyment of non-electric bike riders by for example manning gates and finding lost riders.

We do NOT permit e-bikes on a Thursday ride as these rides are reserved for riders to get fit on non-ebikes.

Volunteers

Our club couldn't exist without our riders and their help. Many riders have different roles (eg. ride leaders, committee members, social secretary, webmaster, etc) helping to run the club efficiently and making it a fun experience for everyone.

We are always grateful for any helping hand especially leading rides. We encourage every rider to consider becoming a leader if they so wish and will always support them. Leading rides can also be shared with a another person on the ride.
